Under the multi-year contract, Wiking Helikopter will carry out flights for crew changes and service teams using Leonardo Helicopters AW139 and Airbus Helicopters H145.

The flights will start departing from Wiking’s base at Airfield Emden and Husum at the beginning of 2019.

TenneT currently operates eight converter platforms in the North Sea, with one under construction and scheduled to be launched next year. The offshore grid operator emphasizes that it maintains its platforms, thus the frequent transport of technicians is required.

Last year, Wiking Helikopter won a contract to provide crew changes to the DolWin Gamma offshore converter station and jack-up vessels working on the site some 50km north of the island of Borkum.
