The agreement will initially run for six years and will see the Norwegian company responsible for the development, design and manufacture of CPS.

According to Seaproof Solutions, the two parties will participate in a cooperative process to continuously research and develop CPS designs and processes.

“The new frame agreement will see an increase in shared values between Seaproof and Ørsted that will build on the experience gained by working together on the world’s biggest windfarm, the 1.2GW Hornsea Project One, offshore UK,” said Henrik Bang-Andreasen, CEO of Seaproof Solutions.

In March 2017, Ørsted, at that time DONG Energy, awarded Seaproof Solutions with a contract to deliver its CPS for the 1.2GW Hornsea Project One offshore wind project in the UK.

The Norway-based company secured a contract extension for the protection systems this February. Shortly after, Seaproof Solutions was acquired by Balmoral Offshore Engineering.

“We are delighted with the synergies between the two organisations and the improvements introduced to Seaproof’s processes and procedures,” Engineering and Projects Director at Balmoral, Fraser Milne, said.

“Both teams are benefiting from each other’s collective experience and the frame agreement with Ørsted is testament to our joint engineering and innovation heritage.”
