According to Spectrum Offshore, the works are being carried out onboard the crew transfer vessel Rix Leopard.

The company said it has mobilized its in-house, custom designed survey installation to accommodate high-resolution multibeam echosounder, parametric sub-bottom profiler and USBL systems.

The 1.2GW Hornsea Project One will comprise 174 Siemens 7MW wind turbines, connected to three offshore collector substations and a reactive compensation substation (RCS), the latter located between the offshore wind farm and the shore.

Once fully operational in 2020, it will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.

Ørsted, the sole owner of the wind farm, also holds project rights to the Hornsea Project Two and Three, which have the potential of further 3GW offshore wind power capacity in total.
