SeaRenergy Calls It a Day at Veja Mate

SeaRenergy has completed a two-year contract for the Veja Mate offshore wind farm, under which it had provided construction site safety services including the provision, installation, maintenance and recovery of five cardinal marker buoys and three mooring buoys.

Starting in early 2016, SeaRenergy deployed its Sealite Trident 2600 cardinal marker buoys to mark the outside boundaries of the construction site. Permanent control of the buoys was possible through integrated submission of data via satellite regarding geographical position, battery voltage, and other operational parameters, according to the company.

The recovered buoys are now undergoing thorough refurbishment in Emden.

Veja Mate is the world’s farthest offshore wind farm, located 95km northwest of the Borkum island in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, consisting of 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 turbines.

The project was commissioned at the end of May 2017, four months earlier than expected. In December 2017, the 402MW offshore wind farm obtained a project certificate, while it was preparing for its operation and maintenance phase by submitting the operational release documentation.
