The Carbon Trust is seeking companies to undertake a study to propose standard interfaces between gangways and transition pieces (TPs), to ensure different systems are usable across wind farms, particularly for future sites.

The main objective of the tender winner will be to engage with industry stakeholders in order to propose recommended or standard gangway ends that ensure TPs are designed accordingly and do not have to be modified.

The second tender invites companies to produce a recommended boat landing design and to undertake a study to provide the industry with a better understanding of the interaction and impact of crew transfer vessels (CTVs) on boat landings during push-on transfers.

Further on, the Carbon Trust is searching for companies to undertake a study to develop an app-based system to be used as a tool for estimating vessel performance based on the in-built motion sensors of a phone or tablet device.

The main objectives of this call are clarifying the restrictions related to use of sensors in a smartphone or tablet, validating use of a phone or tablet-based measurement system against a reference Vessel Motion Monitoring System (VMMS) to ensure a certain level of accuracy, and developing an app that can be used for recording vessel transit and transfer performance easily and with minimal training required.

The deadline for submitting applications for the tenders is 12 March 2018.
