KCI’s scope will be to assist by setting up the engineering packages for the OSS topsides and foundations from a structural point of view and providing technical expertise to the owner of the wind farms.

According to the company, the complementary expertise of Tractebel and KCI will help project owner Les Eoliennes en Mer Services (LEMS), a joint venture partnership between Engie, EDP Renewables and La Caisse des Dépôts, to bring these projects a step closer to realization.

The 496MW Dieppe et Le Tréport offshore wind farm is located 16km from Dieppe and 15km from Tréport, in water depths ranging from 5 to 25m. The 496MW Iles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier wind farm project is located 11.6km from the island of Yeu and 16.5km from Noirmoutier, in water depths varying from 17 to 35m.

Each wind farm will comprise 62 Siemens Gamesa 8MW wind turbines and an offshore substation.

Construction and installation of Dieppe et Le Tréport and Iles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier will begin in 2019, with commissioning expected in 2021. The two wind farms will remain in operation until 2041.
