Neither the Siemens Gamesa spokesperson, nor the social media posts in question provided more details on the matter. However, the company said that more information will be available tomorrow.

Siemens Gamesa reported strong performance in its offshore business for the period April-September 2017, with a 16% increase in revenues. The company pointed out that it continues to lead the world with 11GW in wind turbines installed at sea, which is more than 65% of the global offshore fleet.

A few days ago, Siemens Gamesa announced that its SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbine is expected to be market-ready in 2020, by when the company will have one technology per business segment. In offshore, Siemens Gamesa opts for the direct-drive platform only.
