Comprising 150 SWT-4.0-130 wind turbines, Gemini is one of the world largest offshore wind farms.

On 15 March, the first team of GWS technicians mobilised to Gemini wind farm to assist Siemens Gamesa during the commissioning of the turbines.

“As part of our strategy, GWS is constantly looking to expand our service business together with the OEMs, so being part of the service work on a big project like Gemini is important for us,” said Morten Damgaard, Head of Service, GWS.

Gemini is located 85 kilometres north of the Groningen coast. The wind farm’s 150 turbines have been operating since October 2016.

The offshore wind farm is owned by Northland Power (60%), Siemens Financial Services (20%), Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors BV (10%) and N.V. HVC (10%).
