The DHI MetOcean Data Portal allows users to download and validate nearly 40 years of metocean data, including wind, wave, water level and current data. The portal is expected to shorten the time needed to obtain, analyse and report on metocean data.

The portal will benefit organisations in the offshore wind industry, the marine oil and gas industry, and users needing reliable figures for coastal and marine projects, DHI Group said.

”The MetOcean Data Portal is a leap forward when it comes to the availability and accessibility of decades of high-quality Metocean data. It has already greatly improved our responsiveness within planning and FEED design of support structures in the offshore wind sector,” Anders Sørrig Mouritzen, Director and Technical Lead, C2Wind ApS, said.

Users can extract data for the desired area of interest by placing the marker on the map and selecting a dataset, DHI said.

Users are able to access data from high-resolution local or regional models, to global coverage datasets, along with on-demand calculations of commonly requested analytics.
