The Mukran Port in Sassnitz on the island of Rügen has published a photo of the transition pieces for the 385MW Arkona offshore wind farm.

Bladt Industries and EEW SPC are in charge of supplying the foundations for the project, with Bladt providing the transition pieces and EEW delivering the 60 monopiles.

The first set of transition pieces arrived to the Mukran Port mid-August, while the first monopile was installed a week later by Van Oord’s heavy lift installation vessel Svanen.

The Arkona wind farm, a joint venture between E.ON and Statoil, is located 35 kilometres north-east of the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea.

The wind farm will comprise 60 Siemens 6MW turbines, which A2SEA will start installing in 2018. It is scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
