Companies will present their offshore involvement to the audience on the 4th floor of the port’s passenger terminal. In addition to wind power, plant tours, port trips with a ship, as well as children’s entertainment will be the focus of the exhibition, the port said.

Last year’s exhibition accompanied the 4th conference in the Mukran Port, which brought together representatives from the energy sector, politics, business and associations.

More than 100 participants had the opportunity to hear more about the Wikinger and Arkona offshore wind projects for which the Mukran Port serves as an installation and service port for Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

Iberdola opened an O&M building for the 350MW Wikinger offshore wind farm in the Mukran Port in March. The wind farm will be operated for at least 25 years, in which approximately 100 direct and indirect jobs will be created, and is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2017.

At the construction site of the Arkona wind farm, expected to commission in 2019, the four piles for the offshore substation’s jacket foundations have been installed. The offshore substation will form the centerpiece of the 385MW wind farm, currently under construction by E.ON and Statoil off the coast of Rügen.
