Gardline and Sinotech held a knowledge-exchange seminar on 29 March in Taipei, where Sinotech shared their experience of the Taiwanese market, in particular the offshore renewables sector, and Gardline shared its experience and some of the lessons learned during the past 15 years working for the offshore wind industry in Europe and the United States.

The half-day seminar was attended by technical staff from both Sinotech Inc. and Sinotech Ltd. Andy Campbell, Lead Environmental Scientist APAC and Roi Santos, Geoconsultancy Manager, attended the event for Gardline.

Gardline delivered a series of presentations focusing on the importance of environmental monitoring during the development of offshore wind farms and the necessity to use advanced geotechnical site investigation techniques integrated with high resolution seismic to generate accurate 3D ground models for foundation designs.

Andy Campbell said: “Gardline were honoured to be invited to Sinotech’s latest training facility in Taipei. Sinotech delivered an enthusiastic audience making the seminar a dynamic two-way event.

“The event was a great opportunity to discuss new developments and new technologies in the industry. It was also the ideal platform to promote standardization of work practises between markets that are culturally and geographically separated.”

At the beginning of March, Gardline and Global Aqua Survey (G.A.S) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on offshore survey projects in Taiwan, under which Gardline will provide specialist consultancy and services to G.A.S.
