OMM will deliver annual maintenance inspections of Iberdrola’s structural and subsea/cable assets and subsea inspection services for the offshore wind farm currently under construction in the German part of the Baltic Sea.

Rob Grimmond Managing Director of OMM, said: ”This contract highlights the strength in our supply chain, draws on our experienced and knowledgeable staff from both our Bristol and Hamburg offices, and really reflects the transformation that OMM has been through over the last year.”

Located approximately 75km from the mainland close to the island of Rügen, Wikinger is in the northern part of an area known as Westlich Adlergrund that the German authorities have designated as a Priority Offshore Development Area.

Wikinger is Iberdrola’s first offshore wind project in Germany. The wind farm is expected to be commissioned by the end of the year.

Victor Rey, Iberdrola Offshore O&M Director, said: ”We are very pleased to award this contract to OMM and we look forward to integrating them into the project team for the operations and maintenance phase. We are confident that OMM’s experience and supply chain links will serve us well as we move towards the operations phase of Wikinger.”
