Seaproof Solutions’ head office and main production site in Bergen, Norway, will execute the contract with manufacturing expected to be completed this year and ready for offshore installation in 2018.

This is the 12th offshore wind farm project for Seaproof Solutions, taking the total number of cable protection systems supplied to more that 700 units, the company pointed out.

Siem Offshore Contractors won the contract for a turnkey supply and installation of the inter-array grid cable system for the wind farm in November 2016.

The cables, which will be delivered by Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH (NSW), will connect 32 Senvion 6.33 MW wind turbines to the existing substation, installed as part of the Trianel Borkum I wind farm.

The construction of TWB II is scheduled to start in early 2018 and the wind farm is expected be connected to the grid by the end of 2019.
