Earlier this week, TenneT TSO B.V. awarded HSM Offshore with the contract for the construction of offshore transformer stations required to link up the wind farms to be built offshore at Borssele in the south-west of the Dutch North Sea.

HSM Offshore, part of the ANDUS goup, will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, transport, installation, connection and testing of the offshore transformer station under an EPCI contract.

Apart from providing support during the design, engineering and procurement phases, Iv-Oil & Gas will also be responsible for the integration of the TenneT free issued High Voltage components and the balance of plant materials.

HSM/Iv-Oil & Gas have subcontracted the High Voltage control integration to the specialist company Joulz.

The platform will be handed over during the summer of 2019. The total weight of the platform, including jacket and piles will be in the range of 8000 MT and the approximate dimensions of the platform deck will be 58m long, 32m wide and 26m high.

HSM and Iv-Oil & Gas have previously worked on the transformer station for the Horns Rev A wind farm, as well as on the station for the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm, currently under construction in HSM’s yard.
