GeoSea NV has chosen different services of NHC’s holistic medical care concept WINDEAcare according to the individual construction phases. Beside Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), VENTUSmedic, the Emergency Dispatch & Medical Support Centre operated by Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe e.V., will coordinate these missions.

The contract further includes the provision of offshore paramedics on the installation vessels. During high risk works, an offshore paramedic including telemedicine will secure the overall medical supply offshore.

The offshore preparation works for the construction of Merkur have recently begun with an UXO campaign and will be followed by the installation of scour protection set to begin this month.

The project will be fully commissioned by end of 2018.

The Merkur offshore wind farm is located approximately 45km north of the island of Borkum and covers an area of 47km². It will consist of 66 GE Haliade 150-6MW wind turbines and generate approximately 1,750GWh of power annually, once completed.
