According to the government’s website, the application documents were filed in October.

The construction application follows a scoping report submitted to Marine Scotland in January.

The Dounreay Trì project will consist of a semi-submersible platform fitted with two wind turbines and have a total capacity of between 8MW and 12MW.

Scottish Ministers will receive representations, identifying the proposal and specifying grounds for objection or support, until 30 November 2016, although representations received after this date may be considered as well.

The project is planned to be operational by the summer of 2018.

At the beginning of this year, Hexicon appointed Atkins as an engineering partner for the multi-turbine offshore wind floating platform to be deployed at the Dounreay Trì project.
