Blanke Meier Evers Advises on Merkur Offshore Wind Farm Turbine Contracts

The law firm Blanke Meier Evers has advised the project company behind the Merkur offshore wind farm with respect to drafting, negotiation and conclusion of the turbine supply agreement and the service and maintenance agreement with GE Renewable Germany GmbH.

Last week, Merkur Offshore GmbH reached financial close for the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm, which will be located in the German North Sea, approximately 45 km north of the island of Borkum and will consist of 66 turbines of the type GE Haliade 150-6MW.

A total capital investment of ca. EUR 1.6 billion was raised from equity investors and bank lenders on a non-recourse project financing basis. Close to EUR 500 million in equity was provided by a consortium of five sponsors comprising Partners Group, InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Concessions Wind, GE Energy Financial Services and L’Agence de l’environnement et de la maîtrise de l’énergie (ADEME).
