This was reported within Northland Power’s Q2 and H1 2016 financial results. The company owns two offshore wind farms currently under construction in the North Sea: a 60% equity stake in Gemini and 85% in Nordsee One.

Siemens and Van Oord installed the first 4MW Siemens turbine at the Gemini site in February. The installation will continue throughout 2016, Northland Power said, with commercial operations are expected by mid 2017.

The company further said its 332MW Nordsee One is also progressing on time and within budget with the installation of the in-field cables in progress. All 54 foundation monopiles and transition pieces were in place in April and the installation of the offshore substation was completed in July.

Wind turbine production for Nordsee One is ongoing and the first turbines are scheduled to be installed in early 2017. Full commercial operations are expected by the end of 2017.
