The Basic Maintenance Training standard contains three modules:

  • Hydraulics Training
  • Mechanical Training
  • Electrical Training

The BMT modules are targeted at candidates with no previous experience of these systems but may also upskill candidates who have some knowledge of these areas not specifically related to wind turbines.

The objective of the standard is to develop common industry training and Best Practice Standards for the basic technical and safety skills required for the service and maintenance of wind turbine generators across Europe and the globe. The objective of the standard is to establish common industry training standards and best practices on health and safety, as a vital and necessary way forward, to reduce risks for personnel working in the wind power industry, Maersk said.

The new Basic Maintenance Training modules will soon also be available at Maersk Training’s centre in Newcastle, the company informed.
