Fabricom was able to make the offer after donating to Verein Jordsand, an association involved in North Sea nature and wildlife preservation. Helgoland represents a crucial breeding spot for seals, which are now endangered there.

Fabricom Offshore Services provides balance of plant inspection, maintenance and repair services for Nordsee Ost since 2014 and is operating from the Island of Helgoland.

The company executes yearly above and below water inspections on the WTG jacket foundations and provides Offshore Substation, Structural and Auxiliary system inspection and preventative maintenance services.

Remko Put, Manager Offshore Wind Fabricom Offshore Services, said: “We are proud to have been able to contribute to this milestone achieved by Nordsee Ost. We are grateful for the hospitality of Helgoland and in return we hope to contribute to the initiatives of Verein Jordsand to preserve the island’s wildlife. We hope that many offshore wind companies will find a reason for expanding the WindSeal family in the near future.”
