WindEurope Summit 2016 Starting Lineup Revealed

This year’s WindEurope Summit held in Hamburg from 27 to 29 September will be opened by high-level politicians and business leaders who will discuss the opportunities and obstacles the wind energy industry will face in times of changing policy frameworks.

At a time of changing policy frameworks, the WindEurope Summit 2016 will open by addressing the opportunities and obstacles the wind energy industry will face in the years ahead.

The summit will be formally opened by Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

Olaf Sholz, Mayor of the City of Hamburg, will then provide the welcome address to summit participants, followed by a keynote speech from the Vice-President in charge of the Energy Union, European Commission, Maroš Šefčovič.

WindEurope CEO, Giles Dickson will then chair a panel of CEOs of Europe’s leading wind energy companies to exchange views on Europe’s changing industry.

CEOs at the panel discussion will include Francesco Venturini, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, ENEL Green Power S.p.A.; Lars Bondo Krogsgaard ,CEO, Nordex ; Hans-Dieter Kettwig, Managing Director, Enercon; and Samuel Leupold, Executive Vice President Wind Power, DONG Energy.

Sigmar Gabriel, Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics and Energy of Germany is also confirmed to give the opening address at the summit.

Registration for WindEurope Summit will open on 15 June 2016.

Last year, WindEurope teamed up with Hamburg Messe to host its annual conference alongside WindEnergy Hamburg in 2016.
