BOEM to Discuss North Carolina Offshore Wind Leases

The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will hold the next North Carolina renewable energy task force meeting on 19 April via a webinar.

The sixth Nort Carolina task force meeting will focus on the request for information and proposed sale notice for commercial wind leasing offshore North Carolina.

The task force is an intergovernmental group and includes Federal officials and elected state, local, and tribal officials, or designated member representatives. There will be an opportunity for public Q&A following the meeting.

BOEM identified three Wind Energy Areas offshore North Carolina comprising a total of over 307, 000 acres. These include the Kitty Hawk WEA, the Wilmington West WEA, and the Wilmington East WEA.
