The TWB Phase 2 sits 45 kilometers north of the island of Borkum at a water depth of approximately 30 meters at lowest astronomical tide.

The contract is for the production and turnkey installation of the inner park cabling within the wind farm, and between wind turbine locations and the offshore substation. The cables will connect a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 34 of the farm’s 40 wind turbine generators.

The contractor is expected to provide 50 to 55 kilometers of a 33 (36)-kV submarine cable with fiber optic cable, and install 29 to 39 separate cable links 1.5 meters deep into the seabed.

The contractor will also be responsible for the assembly, hang-off and testing of the cable prior to the commissioning, as well as for providing storage space for the cables at a port near the construction site.

The tender is open until February 26th. Applicants can submit their tender offers either in German or in English.

The project is expected to start on 1st of January, 2017 and end on December 31st, 2018.

The 200 MW Trianel Windpark Borkum Phase 1 became operational in July 2015. In October 2015, EWE AG and Trianel formed a joint venture to develop the TWB Phase II.
