Sormec to Supply Offshore Crane for Dudgeon’s OSS

Italian manufacturer of hydraulic lifting systems, Sormec, has been awarded a contract to supply an offshore telescopic crane for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm’s substation.

In December 2015, representatives of Sembmarine SLP, Statoil and Siemens visited Sormec’s head office to award a kick off meeting for a new offshore telescopic crane M500/3S. The crane will be installed on the offshore substation’s topside.

The crane will have an Safe Working Load (SWL) of 5 tons at 21 meters, 1 ton at 30 m (static) and 5 tons at 10 meters, 2 tons at 21 meters with 2 meters of significant wave height.  The crane is equipped with AOPS, MOPS, CT special features and man riding function.

Sormec will deliver the crane in June 2016.

Sembmarine SLP was awarded the EPC contract for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm’s substation platform in September 2014 by Siemens Transmission & Distribution Limited. The substation will be installed approximately 32km North of Cromer, off the North Norfolk coast.
