This means that the company, which has has been a part of Deutsche Windtechnik AG since June 2015, is now fully affiliated to the independent provider of wind technology. The renaming does not entail any structural changes; the CEOs Holger Hämel and Severin Mielimonka, the employees, the head office in Osnabrück, and all service stations remain unchanged.

The prefix ‘X’ highlights the technical focus of the new business unit. This includes the Nordex range and Senvion systems, from the MD/MM systems to the 3.XM and 5M series, as well as continuing the Fuhrländer systems including the FL2500. The ‘X-Focus’ is juxtaposed with the turbine focus of Deutsche Windtechnik Service GmbH, which has been offering full servicing for machines manufactured by Vestas, NEG Micon and Siemens AN Bonus since 2007.

Management board member Matthias Brandt said: “In line with our identity as a medium-sized company, we allow ourselves autonomy where it makes sense. In this case, this relates to system technologies and various established processes. Customers are thus given full transparency in the supervision of their wind farms.”

Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service will take over responsibility of new maintenance tasks at other wind farms for the 2MW Senvion series (MM82, MM92, MM100 and the vanguard of the 3.XM series) and gain a foothold in the N117 systems technology from the manufacturer Nordex. CEO Holger Hämel added: “The X-Service’ can also expect exciting new challenges both internationally and offshore in 2016: these include, for example, maintenance tasks in France or at the offshore wind farm Nordergründe.”
