Pacific Osprey Installs 100th Foundation at Gemini

Offshore wind installation vessel Pacific Osprey has installed 100th foundation at 600MW Gemini project.

The 161m Jack up vessel, owned by Swire Blue Ocean, commenced the operation together with Van Oord’s offshore installation vessel, Aeolus, in July.

At the end of the August, using Rambiz heavy lift, Van Oord installed two Offshore High Voltage Stations (OHVS), Buitengaats and ZeeEnergie, each with a capacity of 300MW.

The project, located 85 kilometres off the coast of Gronigen, comprises 150 Siemens 4MW turbines.

Owned by Northland Power (60%), Siemens (20%), Van Oord (10%) and HVC (10%), the park is expected to be fully operational by 2017 and capable of generating clean energy for 1.5 million people in the Netherlands.
