DONG Energy Divests West of Duddon Sands Transmission Assets

West of Duddon Sands, a joint venture owned by DONG Energy and ScottishPower Renewables, has signed an agreement for the sale of transmission assets to WoDS Transmission plc. WoDS Transmission plc is owned by a consortium comprising of Macquarie Corporate Holdings Pty Limited and 3i Infrastructure plc.

The transmission assets hold an asset value of GBP 269 million (DKK 2.85 billion). The assets include the onshore substation, export cables and the
offshore substation.

The joint venture partners in West of Duddon Sands have been selected by WoDS Transmission plc to provide operations and maintenance services to the transmission link.

The West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm is located approximately 15km off Walney Island, Cumbria, in the Irish Sea in the UK. Its 108 Siemens 3.6MW wind turbines have a capacity of 389MW and ensure clean renewable energy for more than 270,000 UK households each year.

The divestment takes place pursuant to the Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) regime.
