J/U WIND SERVER Completes Borkum Riffgrund 1 Work

DBB Jack-Up’s new purpose-built vessel J/U WIND SERVER has completed her first large commercial operation performing commissioning support during the turbine commissioning of the Borkum Riffgrund 1 project in the German North Sea.

The vessel has worked on more than 50 turbines during the three months’ charter for Siemens AG.

“The use of WIND SERVER during commissioning of the Borkum Riffgrund project has set new standards for commissioning which we will further exploit going forward,” said Niels Christian Kokkenborg, Marine Operations Manager of Siemens Wind Power A/S and adds: “In addition to benefitting the project, our technicians have also expressed their satisfaction with the improved working conditions.”

J/U WIND SERVER’s next task will be decommissioning of a suction bucket foundation on Horns Rev 2 for DONG Energy,

As from March 2016, J/U WIND SERVER will commence a three-year charter for Siemens Wind Power.
