Four OWF Operators Unite at Rescue at Sea

Operators of alpha ventus, Riffgat, Global Tech I and Trianel Borkum offshore wind farms have joined to cooperate in emergency rescue at sea.

For the first time, different operators have developed a unified rescue plan for four North Sea wind farms, located 15-95 kilometers off the island of Borkum. The aim is to create a high-quality emergency care from a single source.

Northern HeliCopter GmbH from Emden has won a European tender, which was organized as part of a service contract by the EWE Offshore Service & Solutions GmbH and managed together with the other wind farm operators: Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastrukturgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG , Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH and Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum GmbH & Co. KG.

For the implementation of the required emergency services, Northern HeliCopter cooperates with the rescue coordination center VENTUSmedic which is run by the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe and the Klinikum Oldenburg, which is providing emergency management. The medical control center in Berne near Bremen is the first contact for a medical emergency in one of the offshore wind farms.
