EC Grants EUR 25 Mln for Bilfinger’s Offshore Foundation Plant in Poland

European Commission has approved subvention for Bilfinger Mars Offshore’s offshore wind turbine foundation plant in Szczecin, Poland.

The project is in accordance with Innovative Economy Programe’s priorities and receives from the European Regional Development Fund financial subvention for about EUR 25 million.

“It is a very good information for our investment. Documentation prepared by the company has been assessed positive by experts of European Commission and proves the project is in compliance with EU politics. The subvention enables us buying state of the art plant equipment and realising pioneering production technology in offshore branch,” said Dirk Kassen, the president of Bilfinger Mars Offshore.

In December 2014, the steel construction of the facility’s main hall was ready.

Occupying over 220,000 m2, the new manufacturing site will have Europe’s tallest gantry crane at over 120 meters high, and the ability to produce high quality jackets, transition pieces and partly monopiles, for installation in the North and Balitc seas.
