DECC Releases Q3 Energy Figures

UK Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) released third quarter energy figures that show lower generation comparing to the same period last year.

Total energy generation fell 5.1 per cent from 79.5 TWh in 2013 Q3 to 75.4 TWh, reflecting lower demand.

However, renewable energy saw an increase of 20.8 per cent from 5.5 TWh to 6.7 TWh in third quarter with wind generation increased by 10.4 per cent.

According to the statistics, offshore wind energy had an increase of 14.1 per cent in this quarter producing 2.24 TWh.
