Pontis Attends Two British Events

In October Pontis attended two events hosted by British Ambassador Sir Geoffrey Adams. The first of which was the fourth annual UKTI Investment Awards Dinner, and the second was an Anglo-Dutch Offshore Wind B2B & Networking Event hosted at his Residence in The Hague.

Pontis lead engineer Darren Ellam says: “The UK is actually a world leader in offshore wind, with as much capacity already installed as the rest of the world combined. And this is just one sector in the field of advanced composite structures that the UK is actively encouraging. As a British national myself, I look forward to Pontis helping the UK to grow in this sector. Helping companies develop their designs, capability and capacity in order to deliver quality but lower cost of energy composite products, is very much what Pontis does globally.”

The Investment Awards Dinner paid tribute to companies that are successfully helping to expand investment in the UK. Both the Netherlands and the UK significantly invest in one other with mutual benefits. As Sir Geoffrey pointed out, The Netherlands is the second largest investor in the UK, with $240 billion worth of investment stock, while the UK is simultaneously the second largest investor in the Netherlands.

The B2B event was organized with the objective to bring together Dutch and British supply chain companies, developers, turbine manufacturers and other stakeholders in the offshore wind industry, to investigate potential partnerships and upcoming opportunities in the UK and Dutch offshore wind sectors.
