Windfarm Update: Nordsee Ost

Turbine installation is progressing at the NordSee Ost, which is being built 35km north-east off the isle of Helgoland, in an area of around 24km² with water depths ranging from 22 to 25m. In total 48 Senvion 6MW turbines are installed on jacket foundations. This is performed by the Victoria Mathias. And sister vessel Friedrich Ernestine which is helping out by installing rotor blades.

Full commissioning of Nordsee Ost is expected in spring 2015, from when it will be providing electricity to around 300,000 German households annually.

An OSM base has been built in the southern port of Helgoland for the operational phase. This new 2-stored building OSM base was inaugurated in September. It consists of a storage hall, offices and a workshop.
