Planning Inspectorate to Issue Hornsea 1 Recommendations

The Examining Authority has until Wednesday to issue recommendations on the Hornsea offshore wind farm Project One.

The Authority will write a report setting out their conclusions on the application, and stating the  reasons for those conclusions.

The report will make a recommendation to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change who will make the decision on whether to grant development consent.

The 1,200 MW Project One is being developed by SMart Wind, a joint venture between Mainstream Renewable Power and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH.

Up to 332 wind turbines will be connected to the mainland via a 150 kilometer long cable making landfall at Horseshoe Point.
