Offshore Renewables Opportunity Knocks for Cornwall Businesses

The Marine Offshore Renewable sector (MOR) has seen £10’s of millions invested in and around Cornwall over the past few years – Wave Hub, FaB Test, Marine Energy Park in Hayle and the COAST test tank at University of Plymouth, etc.

Offshore Renewables Opportunity Knocks for Cornwall Businesses

Marine renewable energy (MRE) developers from around the world are being encouraged and incentivised to test and subsequently deploy their renewable electricity generation devices around the coast of Cornwall.

For Cornwall based businesses, opportunities will be created across a sophisticated and extensive supply chain in the MRE sector worth £millions for many different types of businesses – not just marine, not just engineering. In the transition to a low carbon economy, the way of electricity generation, distribution and use will change.

On Wednesday, 1st October, key stakeholders will gather at Academy for Innovation & Research (AIR) in Penryn Campus. They will highlight the activities, resources and facilities being delivered in and around Cornwall with the strategic aim of delivering business development opportunities for local SMEs.

Those who choose to attend will find out what’s happening, learn about the offshore developments, hear about the future business opportunities and how they can profitably get involved. The event is free of charge.
