Siemens to Supply 48 Turbines for Dutch Wind Farm

Siemens Energy has received an order for the Netherlands’ largest near shore wind farm. Designed to generate 144 megawatts (MW) of wind power, the Westermeerwind project with 48 direct drive wind turbines is also the first wind power plant Siemens Wind Power’s Offshore unit will erect for handover to the customer on a turnkey basis.

GeoSea Finalises Borkum Riffgrund 1 Foundation Installation

GeoSea has just finalized the installation of 77 foundations on the DONG Energy Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm. The installation works, including transport from the fabrication yard to the marshalling harbor, have proceeded in record times and finished ahead of schedule.

Centrica, Dong Drop Celtic Array

Centrica plc and DONG Energy have today jointly decided to cease development of wind farms in the Irish Sea Zone through their 50/50 joint venture vehicle Celtic Array Limited (“Celtic Array”).
