SgurrEnergy to Attend WINDFORCE 2014

SgurrEnergy will share its offshore wind expertise at the WINDFORCE 2014 exhibition and conference in Bremen, Germany.

SgurrEnergy to Attend WINDFORCE 2014Key personnel from the company’s Hamburg office will deliver presentations to the key players and leaders of the offshore wind industry, and will be showcasing SgurrEnergy’s Galion Lidar, from stand B41 on 17-19 June 2014.

Raya Peterson, principal consultant at SgurrEnergy, will deliver a presentation on quantitative risk assessment and contingency sizing and how increased accuracy can help bring costs down during the ‘Technical routes to cost reduction’ session at 9.30am on Wednesday 18th June. In the ‘International projects’ session later that day (3pm), SgurrEnergy’s director of German operations, Matthias Henke, will present on the lessons learned in UK offshore wind farm developments, drawing on SgurrEnergy’s extensive offshore experience.

Matthias Henke said: “Sharing practical experience is an excellent way for the industry to progress and learn lessons from other in the field. SgurrEnergy’s global expertise in offshore wind provides some very valuable lessons and our recent research has revealed a groundbreaking insight into the way that offshore wind is measured.”

The SgurrEnergy team will be exhibiting at stand B41, where delegates can meet with renewable energy consultants and view the Galion Lidar device. SgurrEnergy has a breadth of offshore wind experience, spanning over 12 years, including offshore wind measurement campaigns in the Gulf of Mexico, South Korea and the German North Sea, lender’s advisor role on the £1 billion Lincs offshore wind farm, and lender’s technical advisor on the world’s largest offshore wind farm, London Array.

SgurrEnergy, part of Wood Group, has a strong track record in German offshore wind farm projects, including lender’s technical advisor roles for Borkum West II, Global Tech I, Meerwind and Butendiek offshore wind farms. Furthermore, independent risk assessments for German offshore wind farms under construction are an important reference on the company’s track record.

WINDFORCE 2014 is a key event in the offshore wind industry for international experts to discuss markets, projects, environmental protection and research. Representing the offshore wind industry’s entire value-creation chain, some 300 exhibitors are expected to attend, including manufacturers, planners and operators, service and logistics companies as well as research institutes, suppliers and insurers.
