M3Wave Closer to Deploying DMP

M3 Wave Energy Systems is getting closer to test its wave energy generator in the waters off the Oregon coast, according to NWNews.

M3Wave Closer to Deploying DMPThe Oregon-based company plans to deploy a small-scale Delos-Reyes Morrow Pressure (DMP) device on the seafloor off of Camp Rilea near Astoria for two to six weeks starting late summer.

The DMP operates beneath the surface of the ocean, utilising passing waves over acrylic pillows, avoiding many of the issues inherent with surface-based systems, like ocean power buoys, ocean wind farms and floating PV.

Funding for M3 Wave Energy Systems LLC is predominantly a combination of US Government grants and private investors.
