Southampton to Host Seawork 2014

For three days in June (Tues 10 – Thurs 12), Southampton UK will play host to the world’s commercial marine professionals, attracted by the Seawork exhibition, which offers a unique combination of three exhibition halls, free-to-attend conference sessions, a Quayside alive with demonstrations, a fleet of over 50 innovative workboats and new product launches from every sector of this complex industry.

Southampton to Host Seawork 2014Now in its 17th year, Seawork 2014 will boast 600 exhibitors from 17 countries and is set to break all previous attendance records with an estimated 7,500 visitors from around the world.

On the evening of opening day, Tuesday 10 June, the winners of the Seawork Innovations Showcase will be announced, together with the presentation of the inaugural Maritime Professional of the Year Award, created to celebrate the business excellence of the commercial maritime sector.

A vital element of the Seawork experience is the opportunity to benefit from the carefully structured and topical conference programme.

Held in the Mayflower Terminal adjacent to the exhibition, delegates can listen and learn about the latest developments and future issues affecting the commercial marine industry from experts – and it’s all free.

Highlights of the 2014 conference schedule include:

  • Tuesday 10 June: the MoD Procurement Programme for 2015 and a presentation on the new workboat Brown Code by the NWA and the MCA
  • Wednesday 11 June: How to secure funding for R&D plus a session on the potential for vessels to run on glycerine fuel by Marine South East
  • Thursday 12 June: Hear the new Windtime charter explained by Grant Hunter of BIMCO and get an update on the local Navitus Bay Wind Farm
