Crown Estate OWFs Consents 'Big Step Forward'

Following the announcement from Scottish Government that the Beatrice and MORL offshore wind projects in the Moray Firth off the north east coast of Scotland have been awarded consents totaling 1,866 MW, the Crown Estate has released a statement.

Ronnie Quinn, The Crown Estate’s lead on Energy & Infrastructure in Scotland, said: “These consents signal a big step forward for the offshore renewables industry, particularly in Scotland. The next stage is unlocking the multibillion pound investments required. Projects of this scale can support supply chain growth and this decision sends a clear message to investors that Scotland and the UK are open for business. Our team stands ready to support these projects as they progress.”

The Crown Estate manage leasing of the UK seabed and support offshore wind with a £100 million investment in a range of projects and research designed to accelerate development and attract investors.
