First Nacelles for Nordsee Ost Wind Turbines Delivered to Base Port

The first three nacelles for wind turbines to be installed at the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm site were delivered to the base port in Bremerhaven on February 20.

Once delivered, a specialized crane with a lifting capacity of 750 tons unloaded the nacelles in the Labrador harbor. After that, the nacelles were transported to the storage premises leased by RWE Innogy at Eurogate Container Terminal.

The remaining nacelles will be delivered in the coming weeks. Then, the company will have almost all the major components of the Senvion 6MW turbines stored in Bremerhaven and could start with the installation at sea in the spring, said Marcus Dengler, head of Bremerhaven Port Logistics at RWE Innogy.

RWE Innogy has been using the 400-meter quay and terminal facilities of the Eurogate Container Terminal as a base port for Nodsee Ost offshore wind farm for about two years.
