DONG Energy Danish Favorite Company in European Business Awards

The videos of 527 European companies have been assessed in the European Business Awards, and DONG Energy was the Danish winner of the public award.

The public gave a total of 70,981 votes divided on 527 videos from 30 European countries. In Denmark, DONG Energy received the majority of the votes, so now the company can be called as the Danish favorite among the public in the competition for the European Business Awards. There are 30 participants left, and the Europeans will vote once again to decide an overall favorite. The voting process is open until March 25 on the European Business Awards’ website.

Apart from being voted the national winner of the public award, DONG Energy has been selected one of Europe’s Top 100 companies by the panel of judges. Consequently, the company is among the last 10 finalists which will be competing in the category ‘Environmental and Corporate Sustainability’ to become Europe’s most sustainable company.

Among other things, it is DONG Energy’s work on promoting offshore wind power at a competitive price, converting to sustainable biomass and working on energy efficiency which have brought DONG Energy this far in the competition.

Karsten Anker Petersen, Head of Communications in DONG Energy, said: “The fact that DONG Energy has been voted among the top 10 leading companies in Europe within sustainability is a recognition that we take responsibility and develop our business in line with the challenges faced by society.”

There are a total of 10 categories in the European Business Awards, each with 10 finalists, and they will now compete in the third and last round of the competition. The result will be published at a large gala event on May 27.
