Scour Prevention Systems Exhibits at Event in Aberdeen

Scour Prevention Systems Ltd (SPSL), based at the OrbisEnergy innovation centre, is exhibiting at the Subsea Expo, Europe’s largest annual subsea exhibition and conference in Aberdeen.

SPSL has also been nominated for the UKTI sponsored ‘New to Exporting’ Award.

More than one hundred and seventy subsea-focused exhibitors and around 4,000 delegates, make the Subsea Expo 2014 exhibition a high profile event.

“The Subsea Expo is a great opportunity for us to present our scour prevention product to the sector and explore new and exciting opportunities to export to the global subsea market,” said Product Engineer Katie Musgrave.

Their system consists of recycled car tyres joined together and laid onto the seabed. Once installed, the Scour Prevention Mat fills with seabed material, be it sand, mud or gravel, stabilising the seabed and preventing further scour. As the density of tyres and surrounding seabed is very similar, they don’t float away, nor do they sink or move.
