RES Enters German Market

British renewable energy company RES (Renewable Energy Systems) has announced the opening of a new office in Stuttgart, Germany with ambitious plans for business in this market – Europe’s biggest market for wind energy. The office has been fully operational since the beginning of December.

Dr Frank Finzel, General Manager of the new subsidiary; RES Deutschland GmbH, says: “Germany’s wind sector, both on and offshore, holds a great deal of potential for RES, and as such we are already engaged in significant discussions with several German stakeholders. It is with this in mind that we are investing in the region and opening a first local office in Stuttgart.”

Finzel added: “When it comes to European wind energy, Germany has always held centre stage, but since the 2011 shift in energy policy, the need to increase wind megawatts is clear. RES hopes to be a significant player in the next development phase of Germany’s energy landscape. In particular, the recent changes to the renewable energy law (EEG) have further encouraged RES to play an active role in the future of German renewable energy and to become a reliable and capable partner to small and large players in this market.”
