A rock placement vessel ‘Seahorse’ is now at the West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm site and will start to lay rocks as a scour protection around all of the turbine bases.

‘Maersk Responder’ is currently in Liverpool for mobilisation and can be expected to arrive on site early next week to carry out trenching and burial work on the inter-array or infield cables. Both of these operations are dependent on weather conditions.

Two 150kV subsea export cables have been laid and buried from the landfall position at Middleton Sands all the way to the substation.

The West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm is a joint venture between DONG Energy West of Duddon Sands (UK) Limited and ScottishPower Renewables (WoDS) Ltd.
