CLS Offshore One of 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain

The London Stock Exchange has identified 1,000 of the UK’s most notable small and medium enterprises to Inspire Britain in its landmark business report. Included in this list is Great Yarmouth-based CLS Offshore Limited.

The report aims to highlight the importance of SME’s to the future of the UK economy and has recognised more needs to be done to raise the awareness of these businesses. Independent research has shown that these companies have almost exclusively generated the new, net job creations since the economic financial crisis took hold.

For inclusion on the list, companies need not only to demonstrate positive growth through turnover over the last four years, but also an increase in either the number of employees, working facility size, value of contracts won, intellectual property owned or awareness of the business.

CLS Offshore’s selection to be part of the Companies to Inspire Britain list came as a complete surprise. Scott McMillan, Managing Director, said of the inclusion: “The fact we have made this list through independent research and measuring is an honour, but also shows that CLS has been making the right impact not only within our own sector, but on the economy as a whole.”

Over the last year alone the company has seen its turnover increase by 37%, and is already on course to have similar growth over the next year. Due to reinvestment CLS have been able to not only increase their workforce, but have also expanded their facilities, which they have recently purchased.

Scott McMillan added: “This list also shows those companies, from a varied sector base, which have the potential to continue their growth and may even be future blue chip companies.”
