TNO Joins KWEIA

Last week TNO Maritime & Offshore attended the Korea-The Netherlands Joint Seminar on The Installation of Offshore Wind Energy Farms in Seoul, Korea.

After the seminar, which was jointly organized by the Korea Wind Energy Industry Association (KWEIA) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, TNO Maritime & Offshore became a member of the world wide recognized association on Offshore Wind in Korea: KWEIA.

The KWEIA was founded in March 24, 2010 for the purpose of boosting / improving the wind energy industry of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) by a ruling of the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy (MKE). Approximately 100 qualified organizations within the ROK have become a member since the beginning of this association.

The membership of TNO Maritime & Offshore was highly appreciated by the Chairman of the KWEIA, the honorable Dr. Rimtaig Lee. The signing of the membership was witnessed by Mr. Wim Jenniskens (Director of VDL Klima) in his capacity of Chairman of the Holland Home of Wind Energy Association (HHWE). Also the Chief Commercial Officer of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dr. Kim Mansok, joined this event.

This membership is a great achievement in joining and supporting the South Korean government and industry with regards to the capabilities of TNO.
