Korea: Hyosung Produces 5.9MW Wind Power Generator

Korea Hyosung Produces 5.9MW Wind Power Generator

Hyosung has produced the first 5.9MW permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) which is a core part of large wind turbines.

This is the first generator of this capacity produced in Korea as part of the government’s plan for the development of offshore wind power generation systems.

Hyosung has noted that their generator is more efficient than other foreign generators.

In the presence of DEWI-OCC, a German certification agency, the company has conducted IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and GL (Germanischer Lloyd Guideline 2010) tests successfully on the 5.9MW generator.
