Germany CPNL Wraps Up Orders for Hang-offs and Joint Solutions

CPNL Engineering GmbH, engineer and supplier of cable protection equipment, announced that a customer placed 2 orders in a row for a joint solution with bend restrictors and 21 hang-offs. The reason for choosing CPNL was found in adaptability and robustness of the products.

“Thanks to our efforts we have created a unique position with flexible products, which are up to factor 12 stronger than available in the market. Both solutions can cope with forces where other products tend to fail,” Ton Tuk (director CPNL Engineering GmbH) recalled. “Product strength is key to success.”

“The order for 21 hang-offs is challenging, as the development was completed in 2012 with the intention to use it in offshore wind. However, the basic requirements for offshore oil and gas are higher than in offshore wind,” Marloes Tuk (business development manager) added. “With a few adjustments we will meet a temporary clamp tension of 40kN and 150kN for the permanent part. It is a perfect opportunity for us to enter both markets of offshore wind and oil and gas with this product.”

After successful completion of a joint solution with bend restriction earlier this year for ABB, the second order will be equipped with articulated pipes CP300-333. “As a bend restriction are currently polyurethane and aluminum products used, but in cases of increased tension (> 400kN in this project) nodular cast iron will definitely succeed,” Ton concluded. “It is a matter of design. What we do with our pipes cannot be reproduced by our colleagues with their products.”
